About Therapy & Creative Arts Therapy
Therapy is a process. Taking part in the therapeutic journey can have profound and positive results benefiting many areas of your life. As with everything in life, there are no guarantees of positive results or even intended results. Change and growth can be joyous, painful, and often unpredictable. Every step along the way, the decision to continue is yours.
Some people come to Creative Arts Therapy with experience in various arts areas—formal schooling and a degree, taking classes, or years of a hobby or craft in which they have developed a level of skill. Others have no formal training in the arts but love to listen to music, or love to dance, or to draw and paint, love reading mysteries, practice meditation or mindfulness, secretly write poetry that no one reads.
The creative arts areas don’t end there. Creative arts areas include cooking and culinary arts, gardening and horticulture arts, language arts and the written and spoken word. Creative Arts Therapy uses all of these arts areas and more, according to the interests and preferences of each individual client.
